Back in April 2012, Dedrick Ashford struck and killed six-year-old Christopher Wade, Jr. with his car. In September 2012, Mr. Ashford pleaded guilty to causing a death while knowingly driving without a driver’s license. At a court hearing on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey Wagner sentenced Mr. Ashford to one year of prison and one year of extended supervision.
Following the sentencing hearing, a fight broke out between family members of the victim and family members of Mr. Ashford. Two Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Deputies were injured while breaking up the fight. Several people were arrested as a result of the fight. To see video of the incident, please see the CBS 58 website.
