Fortunately for a Greenfield couple, they were on vacation in Florida when a SUV crashed into their home and wound up in their kitchen. According to a Greenfield Police Department report, the 70-year-old driver of the SUV blacked out while driving, and when his wife who was in the passenger seat tried to wake him up, he was unresponsive. Eventually the vehicle crashed into a shed and then into a home near South 124th Street and West Holmes Avenue. The driver of the vehicle and his wife sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident. The owners of the home told the media that they feel lucky that they were not in the residence at the time of the accident. While the driver of the vehicle declined to speak to the media, the police report indicates that he did not have any pre-existing medical conditions that would have caused him to black out behind the wheel.
