Wisconsin State Patrol to Combat Texting While Driving

Posted on

Texting while driving is one of the most dangerous forms of distracted driving. Studies show that texting while driving may be even more dangerous than drinking and driving.

To combat the dangers of texting and driving, the Wisconsin State Patrol is teaming up with AAA and AT&T to hold events at Wisconsin high schools. The events will include a distracted driving simulator which demonstrates the effects of texting while driving.

Wisconsin is one of 37 states that ban texting and driving. It is a primary offense, meaning that law enforcement can pull over a driver for texting and driving. Fines can be as much as $400.
