Milwaukee Personal Injury Lawyer Firm
Jon Safran represented a City of Milwaukee Fire Department chief injured during a call in an emergency vehicle. While responding to a report of a gas leak emergency with his siren and emergency lights operating, a taxicab driver failed to yield the right of way to the emergency vehicle. The taxicab driver was ticketed by the City of Milwaukee Police Department for violation of Wisconsin Statute Section 346.19, requiring an operator of a vehicle to yield the right of way upon “the approach of any authorized emergency vehicle giving audible signal by siren.”
Client’s Injuries and Expenses
As a result of the vehicle collision, our client suffered injuries and was transported by ambulance to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. Because the officer was on duty, City of Milwaukee paid Workers compensation benefits, including the medical expenses and lost wages. The case was settled with the insurance company for the taxicab company prior to a lawsuit.
We are very proud that our law firm was chosen to work this important case, and of the work that we were able to perform in securing just compensation for a Milwaukee public servant. This case represents the possibilities when our experienced law firm goes to bat for one of our Milwaukee car accident victims.
Our Milwaukee Car Accident Lawyer Results
